In addition to inspecting the air handling unit and replacing the LTO cells, our specialist also assessed the cleanliness of the system. In Espoo, we carried out a thorough cleaning and inspection of the natural (gravity) ventilation system of two detached houses. The work included washing the valves, cleaning the ducts of debris and dirt, and cleaning the roof fans on the roof. The roof fans were in very poor condition, so we recommended replacing them so that ventilation works effectively and problems are avoided. Regular roof fan cleaning is an essential part of working ventilation; a dirty roof fan can lead to weaker draught and moisture problems. In winter 2021, IVAeris Oy carried out an extensive ventilation system renewal in a five-flat housing company in Helsinki. The work consisted of replacing the old air handling units with new energy-efficient models, making the necessary duct modifications and properly insulating the ducts. We also cleaned the whole ventilation system, commissioned the new units, and measured and balanced them for optimal operation. We documented all the issues and shortcomings found. With this project, the housing company gained more energy-efficient ventilation.
