IVAeris Oy conducted an extensive cleaning of ventilation ducts, along with airflow measurement and adjustment, at Kahdeksas Huvilatie 9, Espoo, in two apartments. The project was commissioned by a private individual.

The work involved a comprehensive cleaning of the ventilation system. The process began with the washing of vents using a mildly alkaline cleaner, done by hand. The ducts were thoroughly cleaned with a brush. Additionally, the ventilation unit and ducts in the machine room were vacuumed and cleaned with a metal brush. After cleaning, all surfaces were wiped with a mildly alkaline solution and a microfiber cloth. Filters were replaced with new ones to enhance the system’s performance.

The system used at the site was a mechanical supply and exhaust air system. The duct lines, including exhaust, supply, fresh air, and waste air ducts, were individually depressurized and mechanically brushed with a rotating brush.

During the work, it was noted that the ventilation ducts were not airtight, and some ducts were flexible aluminum types that did not meet current installation standards. This finding was communicated to the client, and a more detailed inspection was recommended.

Thanks to IVAeris Oy’s work, the performance of the ventilation systems in both apartments was significantly improved, enhancing the residents’ comfort.
