Törmänsivu 1

IVAeris Oy performed a thorough cleaning of the ventilation system and conducted air volume measurements and adjustments for the single-family home at Törmänsivu 1 in Espoo. The project was commissioned by a private client.

The focus was on the meticulous cleaning of the ventilation ductwork, starting with the cleaning of the supply air vents. These vents were hand-cleaned using a mildly alkaline detergent, followed by the thorough cleaning of the ductwork. After the exhaust air ducts were cleaned, the supply air vents were washed, and the supply air ducts were brushed.

Sheet metal ducts were carefully inspected and cleaned by pushing a brush through the ducts in both directions. During the process, the pressure difference between the ductwork and the living space was measured and found to be sufficient. Waste and fresh air ducts were cleaned separately at the end of the job using a rotating brush with a plastic handle.

The property utilized a mechanical supply and exhaust air system. While the ductwork was well-installed and tight, it was noted that the fresh air and waste air ducts were not adequately insulated with rubber. This observation is significant, and corrective recommendations have been provided to the client.

As a result, the performance of the ventilation system at Törmänsivu 1 improved, enhancing indoor air quality and increasing the comfort of the residents.​
