At Kalkkipellontie 6, under the order from IV-10 Oy, we installed an 800 mm duct system and insulated it with 50 mm mineral wool. We dismantled a heavy Genano air purifier and used lifts and tapes to ensure a tight and efficient installation.

The task involved the removal of a Genano air purifier and the installation of a new duct system, which was returned to an 800 mm configuration, with insulation of the ductwork using 50 mm thermal wool. The work was carried out by a team of four installers over two days.
The first phase involved dismantling the air purifier, which weighed several hundred kilograms. It was disassembled and lowered to the ground using a duct lift rented from Powerlift Oy. New duct components were then delivered to the site.
Handling the 800 mm ducts required significant effort due to their size and weight. A belt conveyor duct lift was installed on the ceiling to assist with positioning the ducts. Since the ends of the old ductwork were not aligned, several fittings had to be used, and some were installed slightly off-angle.
Duct tightness was ensured using purpose-designed sealing tape (ALU/BUTYLI 50MM for IV ducts). This tape is quick to apply and guarantees an airtight seal. It was pressed firmly onto a clean and dry surface, adhering immediately and achieving its final hold within 24 hours. The tape is reinforced with aluminum foil, molds well, and is tensile.
After installation, the system was powered up and checked for leaks. Following this, the ductwork was insulated with 50 mm thermal wool.
The job was completed efficiently and accurately, ensuring that the new duct system operates optimally and that the insulation is appropriately applied. This project demonstrated our team’s ability to handle large and complex installations while ensuring all details are addressed and the system functions flawlessly.
