Service Description

Ventilation ductwork airtightness measurement and pressure test. We determine whether the ductwork meets the airtightness requirements of the EN 12237 standard and which airtightness class it reaches. Leaking ductwork weakens the ventilation's performance, increases energy consumption and can lead to impurities or moisture being carried into the structures. The service suits new buildings where the ductwork's airtightness needs to be verified before commissioning, renovation projects where the ductwork has been replaced and airtightness must be confirmed, cases of suspected duct leaks (airflows do not add up, energy consumption has risen), and situations where an airtightness classification is needed for documentation. The price includes: preparation of the ductwork (plugging and closing without dismantling the ductwork), the necessary materials (tapes, plastic sheeting, foil materials, sealing balloons), the pressure test and measurements according to the EN 12237 standard for up to 15 metres of duct, an airtightness inspection report with the classification, and travel costs in the Helsinki metropolitan area. The price does not include: duct length over 15 metres (additional metres 47 EUR/m), locating or repairing leaks, dismantling or servicing the ductwork, or repair work. How it works: 1. Book the airtightness inspection online. 2. Our technician prepares the ductwork on site: plugs the ends, closes the branches and seals the measurement area. 3. We perform the pressure test with calibrated equipment (Testo, Pressovac, BlowerDoor, Retrotec, Wöhler). 4. You receive a report with the ductwork's airtightness class, the measurement results and any recommendations for further action. The measurement is based on the EN 12237 standard, which defines airtightness classes A, B, C and D for round and rectangular ducts. The class indicates how much the ductwork leaks relative to its surface area at a given test pressure. The tighter the class, the less leakage and the more efficiently the system works. If the airtightness inspection reveals problems, we recommend further measures. Not sure whether you need an airtightness inspection or some other investigation? Book an on-site IV assessment (IV-katselmus) and we will evaluate your situation first. We serve Espoo, Helsinki, Vantaa, Kauniainen and the rest of Uusimaa.
