Air ventilation duct cleaning
Duct brushing, valve washing, unit cleaning, airflow balancing.
Service Description
Mechanical cleaning of ventilation ducts (duct cleaning, often called air conditioning duct cleaning), when dirt has accumulated in the ductwork, weakening the airflow and increasing energy consumption. Cleaning is not a legal obligation and does not need to be done routinely - but when there is a need for it, it is a sensible measure. A dirty exhaust ductwork reduces the diameter of the ducts, forces the ventilation unit to work harder and strains the motors and electronics. Clean ducts extend the service life of the system and keep energy consumption at the designed level. The price depends on the size of the property: Under 150 m² - 785 EUR Under 260 m² - 972 EUR Under 380 m² - 1,357 EUR All prices are fixed and include VAT. The price includes: negative pressurisation of the ductwork, mechanical brushing of the ducts, removal and washing of the valves, cleaning and inspection of the ventilation unit and HRV cell, filter replacement, airflow measurement and balancing, a measurement record, and travel costs in the Helsinki metropolitan area. The price does not include: new filters, repairs or installations (billed separately), or a photographic cleaning report (available at extra cost). Work steps: 1. The duct section to be cleaned is isolated from the rest of the system with plugs. 2. The ductwork is put under negative pressure so that dust does not spread indoors. 3. The ducts are brushed mechanically with a rotating brush and the loosened dirt is extracted with the negative pressure unit. 4. The valves are removed, washed and their seals checked. The valve adjustment positions are marked before removal. 5. The ventilation unit, HRV cell, fan and condensate system are inspected and cleaned. The filters are replaced. 6. The airflows are measured and adjusted to the design values. You receive a measurement record. Depending on the size of the property, the cleaning takes 4-8 hours. When is cleaning worthwhile? When visible dust accumulates around the valves, you can feel dust on the inner surface of the duct with a finger wipe, the ventilation feels ineffective, or wet rooms no longer dry as they used to. The need for cleaning can also be verified with a visual cleanliness inspection or a dust accumulation measurement. We do not use health claims and we do not sell unnecessary services. If you are not sure whether your ductwork needs cleaning, book an on-site IV assessment (IV-katselmus) - we will assess your situation honestly. The labour share typically qualifies for the Finnish household expenses tax credit (kotitalousvähennys). We serve Espoo, Helsinki, Vantaa, Kauniainen and the rest of Uusimaa.
