Service Description

Installation of a backdraught damper (butterfly damper) in the cooker hood's exhaust duct. The damper stops cold air, odours and impurities from flowing back inside through the exhaust duct when the cooker hood is not in use. At the same time it reduces heat loss through the kitchen. A typical need: cold draughts come from the cooker hood, odours come in from outside, or the hood was installed without a backdraught damper. The service suits both mechanical and natural ventilation, in new and old properties. The price includes: checking the dimensions of the exhaust duct and the structure of the cooker hood, selection and delivery of a suitable damper (usually 125 or 160 mm in diameter), installation and sealing of the joint, function testing, cleaning of the work area, and travel costs in the Helsinki metropolitan area. The price does not include: duct modifications, cooker hood replacement, electrical work, or custom-sized duct solutions (agreed separately). How it works: 1. Book the installation online. 2. Our installer checks the duct, installs the damper and seals the joint. 3. Operation is tested together with the cooker hood. The work is done in a single visit without renovation. The labour share typically qualifies for the Finnish household expenses tax credit (kotitalousvähennys). We serve Espoo, Helsinki, Vantaa, Kauniainen and the rest of Uusimaa.
