Time Calculator
Estimate how long a ventilation duct installation will take and what the labour cost will be. Enter the duct type and size, insulation choice, fittings required, and working conditions – the calculator works out the total hours and recommended number of installers in real time. All calculations are based on the official norm hour tables from the Finnish Building Services Sector Collective Agreement (TES) 2025–2028.
How does the calculator work?
The calculator uses official HVAC installation norm hours (NH), defined in Appendix 5 of the Finnish Building Services CBA. A norm hour represents the estimated time a skilled installer needs to complete a specific task under standard conditions. For example, installing a Ø315 mm insulated round duct is rated at 0.60 NH per metre.
The calculator accounts for duct type and size, insulation thickness, the number of fittings (elbows, T-pieces, reducers), supply and exhaust valves and grilles, fire dampers, and air handling unit size. Working condition additions – such as tight spaces, elevated working heights, shaft installations, and machine rooms – are applied automatically based on your selections.
Results are indicative. Norm hours represent average performance times, and actual installation duration depends on site-specific conditions, material availability, and installation details. Insulation work, core drilling for penetrations, and scaffold erection are not included in the estimate and must be priced separately.
